Pickleball

Bentsen Grove Resort has both indoor and outdoor pickleball courts for you to enjoy. We have constructed a new air conditioned building with 2 courts, giving Bentsen Grove Resort a total of 4 pickleball courts (3 indoor and 1 outdoor) for you to enjoy. Whether you are new to the sport or a pickleball superstar, you will have a blast playing this fast-paced sport with your friends. As one of our most popular activities, there is always someone to play with so come pick up a paddle and join us in the tropical weather of South Texas!

Birding

Bentsen Grove Resort is located just 2 miles down the road from the World Birding Center, a world-class birding destination. The park was set up as a partnership of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and is home to more than 500 recorded species of birds. Whether you are an avid birder or just starting out, Bentsen Grove Resort with the Rio Grande Valley is one of the best retirement communities for Winter Texans and South Texas Snowbirds to spot our feathered friends.

Rock Club

Are you a rock hound? Come join our Rock Club and explore the wonderful world of geodes and gemstones in the Rio Grande Valley. Our largest group at Bentsen Grove Resort, the Rock Club offers classes in Silversmithing, Rock Tumbling, Jewelry Wrapping and Stone Carving. Our annual Rock & Mineral Show is held in February.

Woodcarving

Calling all whittlers and woodcarvers! Join our Woodcarving Club and experience the joy and relaxation of creating beautiful pieces out of natural wood. Amateurs and experts alike can show off their creations at one of our Woodcarving Shows, or perhaps sell your items at one of the largest Craft Shows in the Rio Grande Valley.

Stained Glass

Come and learn the intricate art of stained glass. You can learn and master the techniques required to create beautiful wall hangings or even create your very own stained glass window to enjoy with all the sun we have here in beautiful South TX.

Glass Adventures

One of our newer activities . . . join the Glass Adventures club at the best RV and mobile home park in south Texas and you will be able to craft beautiful pieces of art made out of glass. Picture frames, sculptures, vases… the only limit is your imagination!

Swimming

Our Winter Texans and South Texas Snowbirds can relax by our heated indoor or outdoor pools or take a dip in our hot tub in the tropical weather of south Texas. Whether you are looking to swim laps, join a water aerobics class or just soak up the sun poolside, we have the place for you.

Bicycle Club

Love riding bikes? Join our Bicycle club on frequent rides to the many beautiful trails near Bentsen Grove Resort in the Rio Grande Valley. Or, maybe take a ride to the World Birding Center just 2 miles down the road.

Encaustic Art

Encaustic painting, also known as hot wax painting, involves adding colored pigments to heated beeswax. Encaustic Art is one of our newest activities here at Bentsen Grove Resort. Come join a class and see what it is all about.

Billiards

Shoot some pool with your buddies on one of our ten billiard tables in our pool hall, or play competitively in the organized leagues that are played from the mobile home parks in and around Bentsen Grove Resort and the Rio Grande Valley.

Golf

Bentsen Grove Resort has a putting and chipping green for you to enjoy. We are also a short drive from a number of beautiful golf courses in the Rio Grande Valley.

Card Games

Texas Hold’Em? Poker? Rummy? Bridge? Just to name a few. Whatever your game, join our card nights for some great fun! You’ll also love our Casino Nights!

Let out your inner-artist at one of our painting classes!

Quilting

Create beautiful quilts with your friends in our quilting club, then show them off in the Quilt Show to everyone in South Texas!

Craft Show

Attention South Texas Snowbirds! Come shop (or sell) at one of our monthly craft shows from November through March, then enjoy some lunch at our Y-Cook Café. We have some very talented residents as well as other vendors from the Rio Grande Valley area that offer all types of clever home-made items.

Non-Denominational Church Service

Bentsen Grove Resort offers a non-denominational church service on Sunday mornings right in our main hall. Everyone is welcome.

Friday Night Dances

Big Bands, Country, Rock & Roll . . . Bentsen Grove Resort has it all. Come join us every Friday night and dance the night away.

Card Making

Card Making and Scrapbooking are becoming quite popular. Come learn a new craft or meet others that share your passion!

Bingo

Monday nights are for Bingo here at Bentsen Grove Resort mobile home and RV park.

The produce truck arrives every Friday afternoon offering fresh fruits and vegetables at a great price.  And there is nothing better than a fresh juicy pineapple cut just for you!

Yoga

Bentsen Grove Resort offers all types of exercise classes to keep you feeling fit and trim. Stretching, Line Dancing, Yoga, Water Aerobics, and Tai Chi – just to name a few. We even offer Zumba classes with our very own licensed instructor.

Holiday Fun

Our residents love to celebrate! Come join us for a delicious meal and celebrate the holidays with us. Bentsen Grove Resort kicks off the season with our annual Halloween costume party. We also have tree trimming parties, holiday sing-a-longs, cookie contests and bake-offs, parades and block parties. We love to have fun here at the best mobile home and RV park in south Texas!

Love to read? Bentsen Grove Resort has a wonderful library that our residents are proud of. Browse through our large collection of books and magazines. Relax in a chair in our air-conditioned library, or borrow a book to read in the comforts of your mobile home or RV.

Ceramics

Love ceramics? We offer that too! Sculpt your own piece of pottery and fire it up in our kiln.

Horseshoes

Bentsen Grove Resort mobile home & RV park has 4 horseshoe pits. Grab a friend and play for fun, or join a team and play in a tournament.

Clogging

Whether you are a pro or a beginner, come and have some fun at our clogging classes. Learn a new routine and perform with us at Bentsen Grove Resort and other mobile home & RV parks in the Rio Grande Valley.

Paper Quilling

Come and learn the art of paper quilling.  This craft has been around for hundreds of years and is the art of rolling narrow strips of paper into coils or scrolls and arranging them to form a decorative design.

Darts

Join us in the “Hangar” for a game of darts on one of our 8 dart boards.

Volleyball

Grab a few friends and meet us on the court for a fun game of volleyball.

Tennis

Tennis Anyone? There is no excuse for being bored with all the activities offered here at Bentsen Grove Resort mobile home & RV park.

First Responders

Bentsen Grove Resort has a group of resident volunteers which respond to emergency calls. They support the medical emergency needs of the residents and guests until further medical service can be obtained, provide first aid assistance prior to ambulance arrival, and assist the patient and/or spouse to prepare for departure to a medical facility.
